Fed up of the Berlin greyness? The YAMM, meaning Young African Art Market, will allow how to warm both your body and your heart !

 

Key points of this outstanding place :

First, the YAMM, is original due to the music being played there : you won’t find any techno-music there, but will be surrounded by a Jamaican atmosphere of reggae music !

 

Then, the YAAM is characterized by its pleasant location : at the edge of Spree, this beach bar will allow you to find a small summer end with its deckchairs, its sunshades, its fine sand and its fresh beers to sip in front of a fantastic view of the river - it is best to go there at sunset.

 

Finally, the YAAM is unique because of the varied activities and spaces it proposes : besides the corner beach, there are a skatepark, a climbing wall, a sports field, an area of games for children, a podium for concerts… and many different food stalls from all over the word, from Africa to South America. The bar is also known for its eccentric graffiti almost everywhere, which owed something to those of the East Side Gallery closed by. What is also striking in this place is the diversity of people you can meet there : Hipsters, families, skaters, tourists, musicians, lovers… a real mix of cultures ! It’s the best place to go and have a drink, dinner or meet new friends in a relaxed environment.

 

How to get there ?

You can enter the YAAM via the Schilling bridge, at the end of the East Side Gallery when you turn left.

You will simply be asked for a donation - you can choose to give what you want, from €1 to €10. Then you just have to let yourself be guided by the music through this exceptional place and enjoy your moment !
